How Timebanking Works
Charities register with Volunteer TimeBank and list volunteer opportunities for individuals to contribute their time and skills.
Volunteers create a profile, detailing their skills and availability. Depending on the role, they may be required to complete relevant background checks to meet safeguarding and compliance standards.
Volunteers offer their time to approved charities. Once the work is completed, the charity verifies the hours through the Volunteer TimeBank platform.
After reaching 50 verified hours, volunteers are awarded “Champion” status. This milestone allows them to start using their time credits and unlocks the ability to both request and fulfil service needs.
Only Champion volunteers can redeem hour credits – and only Champion volunteers can respond to those requests. Transfering hours is only done between Champion volunteers. Charities cannot transfer hours, only credit hours to a verified volunteers.
All time exchanges are securely tracked and managed through the platform, creating a smooth, fair and transparent experience for everyone involved.
