It’s a Mindset Shift – Instead of guarding your pool of 30 volunteers . . . Why not share access to 3000 potential volunteers?
Volunteer TimeBank (VTB) helps charities INSTANTLY connect with a larger pool of skilled, verified volunteers in their area —while fostering a global community built on trust, reciprocity, and shared purpose.
Here’s what your organisation will gain:
- Tap into a growing network – Gain instant connection to a diverse and motivated pool of skilled volunteers in your local area.
- Increase fundraising potential – Receive a share of volunteer registration fees.
- Easily manage opportunities – List, update, and coordinate your volunteer roles through a simple, user-friendly system.
- Track time and measure impact – Use verified time logs for accurate reporting, demonstrating value to funders and stakeholders.
- Lower staffing costs – Reduce dependence on paid staff by filling roles with qualified, trusted volunteers.
- Boost reach and visibility – Increase awareness of your cause through VTB’s promotional reach and growing volunteer community.
- Encourage long-term engagement – Operate within a transparent, trustworthy system that keeps volunteers active and committed.
- Respond faster to community needs – With VTB’s shared volunteer pool, your service requests are more likely to be filled quickly by suitable individuals.
- Create Your Charity Profile
Register your charity and upload your profile, socials and credentials. To be eligible, your organisation must
be legally registered and verifiable through your country’s charity commission or regulatory body. - Post Volunteer Opportunities
List roles and tasks where you need support — anything from admin, graphic design, grant applications, music, electrical work, gardening, education or outreach to specialist services, environmental or community care. One off events or for regular intervals. - Approve Volunteers & Manage Safeguarding
Review volunteer applications, ensure appropriate background checks (such as DBS in the UK) are in place for relevant roles, and take responsibility for your volunteers meeting all local safeguarding and legal standards. - Verify Volunteer Hours
After work is completed, confirm the hours on the VTB platform so volunteers can build their time bank. This transparency creates accountability and trust. - Champion Recognition & Support
Volunteers who reach 50 hours earn “Champion” status, enabling them to both request and provide support within the VTB network.
- Your organisation must be legally registered and in good standing with your national charity regulator.
- It is your responsibility to verify volunteers for roles that require criminal, welfare, or safeguarding checks.
- Safeguarding laws vary by country. When hosting volunteers internationally, your organisation must comply with local rules and regulations to ensure safety and legal adherence.
Disclosure & Barring Service – The Updated Service https://secure.crbonline.gov.uk/crsc/subscriber
Subscribing to this service reduces the need to apply for multiple DBS Certificates when you move from one job to another in the same workforce or volunteering role or when a recheck is required. Organisations/charities can carry out a quick online Status check to see if an individual’s Certificate is still up to date – saving you both time and money.
This service is free for volunteers.
